Christmas Shoeboxes: A Roundup

I can't believe that it's now over a month since we took all of your Christmas shoeboxes to the charity, to be given out to homeless people who really needed vital supplies over wintertime.

Collecting the boxes at the university from student nurses and academic staff alike, I won't lie, did take a little bit of time and effort on our part. However, looking through the boxes that had been put together with real thought and empathy absolutely made that time and effort worthwhile. Being caring and compassionate about others is a well-known trait for student nurses to have, but actually taking the time to put that care and compassion into something physical, for people you may never meet, is something truly special.

Taking 24 shoeboxes, all of which were completely full with useful, thoughtful gifts for homeless people, and presenting them to the charity made us genuinely proud to be student nurses here at Southampton University.
