Hey, I am Tommy/Tom/Tomo call me whatever you want! I am a final year Adult Nurse this will be my third year in the UK
A few weeks ago I decided to set up a mini lecture to integrate all the Irish students from all years of nursing. We had a mix of first to final years.
We spoke about all the things you need to complete as an international student when you move to the UK. If you need the list here it is!

PPSN – (Drugs scheme card, medical card, European insurance card etc.)
If you are planning on working over here alongside study, you will need to register with HMRC this is simple and online, to verify your Identity you will be asked to use a post office app. Look on the HMRC website https://www.signin.service.gov.uk/start

*We didn’t get an overdraft but you may be able to as your year has a different dynamic to ours.
Letter of enrolment – Print off in the George Thomas (this ensures Uni stamp, some banks are quite particular,)
You will need proof of address i.e. letter of enrolment and halls bill, you can also change your Irish bank address online and send out a statement, this is a handy option

Dyslexia
Inform the University ASAP
Enabling services drop ins from 1-3pm Weekday – Pop in if you need it. My Tutor is also very involved in dyslexia at the Un and involved in research.

Final Years
I also spoke about some of the options for the final years.
For those of you who want to add a top up on Mental Health, Children's and Midwifery or Adult. You can do this in 18 months. You need a 2.1 and have to apply via UCAS.
As we have studied in Southampton we can alter this and condense the course. I will update you as I get more information.
We also spoke about NQN jobs in Northern Ireland, The Republic or Ireland and the UK.
